The centre began on 1st May 2003. From 2003 to 2006 the centre arranged skill training programmes to empower women by enhancing their income generation avenues. The centre was known as the Human Empowerment Centre. In April 2006 the centre was renamed community Health and Development Centre. The centre held programme for the tea garden labours and villagers on health education. In March 2010, Based on survey conducted, the aims and objectives of centre were redrawn and the centre was renamed NIRMET. In 2016 March the centre is renamed Navjeevan Institute of Rural Medical Education (NIRME). In 2019 The centre is renamed Navjeevan Institute of allied health education (NIAHE) The Centre has recognized by Bharat Sewak Samaj is a National Development Agency promoted by Government of India, Chennai Tambaram India. Government of West Bengal permitted to run two domains (GDA and F & B service steward) in 2022 to trained the candidates and provide jobs under Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development.

Daughters of the cross (FCs) firstbatch arrived at Gayaganga in April 1935. The convent was established on 26th April 1936 middle of the villages in rural area, where the villagers survived lack of electricity, pure drinking water, Nutrition food, transportation and medicine etc. The FCs saw many illness people had to walk about 35 miles on to Siliguri for one tablet. Malaria and Kala jar were rampant in this area. They determined to establish a dispensary and was inaugurated on 10th May 1937. Thus began the Gayaganga health mission. Daughters of the Cross established Bhogibhita Dispensary with amount of Rs. 2000. The Bhogibhita dispensary slowly grew up. Regular medical care was provided by residential nurse sisters and visiting doctors. In 1982 the dispensary was converted into a primary health centre. In 1994 after obtaining Master’s degree in Surgery, Dr. Sister Regina FC returned to the Gayaganga health care centre with new vigour and a new vision.
Soon after flowereshed the congregation, and with the active involvement of Dr. Sr. Regina Decided build a larger hospital with more facilities to make health service available to common people affordable cost. Also the FCs decided to provide the health education and trainings. As result, on 1st May 2003 new building constructed and 1st May 2003 the human empowerment Centre was started with the objective of empowering the local people, especially women. In 2016 March the centre was renamed with Navjeevan Institute of Rural Medical Education (NIRME). Again In 2019 The centre was renamed with Navjeevan Institute of allied health education (NIAHE) The Centre has recognized by Bharat Sewak Samaj a National Development Agency promoted by Government of India, Chennai Tambaram India. NIAHE also got registered under PBSSD in 19th May 2022 as a training center. Government of West Bengal permitted to run two domains (GDA and F & B service steward) in 2022 to trained the candidates and provide jobs under Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development.
